TOLEDO, Ohio — A 14-year-old boy is dead and another teenager is facing murder charges after a stabbing Saturday evening in Toledo’s Point Place neighborhood.
According to Toledo police and WTOL, officers were called to the McDonald’s at North Summit and 124th Street just after 8:25 p.m. When they arrived, they found the victim, identified as 14-year-old Xander Epps, who had run to the restaurant for help after being stabbed nearby.
Epps was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Investigators say a 16-year-old suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in connection to Epps’ death.
At least eight staff members and customers were inside the McDonald’s at the time. Police used crime scene tape to secure the area and were still interviewing witnesses hours after the stabbing.
The investigation remains ongoing.
