TOLEDO, Ohio — Toledo police are investigating a deadly shooting that occurred during an attempted robbery at a restaurant on the city’s west side Thursday night.
Officers were called around 9 p.m. to a business plaza in the 3500 block of Executive Parkway, near Secor Road. Investigators say a man entered ZaZa Pizza and tried to rob the restaurant. Someone inside the business opened fire, striking the suspect.
The man, identified by police as 22-year-old Jayson Brown, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities have not released further details about the individual who fired the weapon or whether any charges are expected. The case remains under investigation by the Toledo Police Department.
