Holland Sylvania and Angola to Become Roundabout

TOLEDO, Ohio — A federal safety grant will help fund construction of a new single-lane roundabout at the intersection of Holland-Sylvania and Angola roads, a joint project involving Springfield Township and the city of Toledo.

The Lucas County Engineer’s Office said the project will replace the current signalized intersection and include upgrades to drainage, sidewalks, and street lighting.

Work on the $3.7 million improvement is expected to begin in 2030. Most of the funding—about 90 percent—comes through the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Improvement Program, with the remaining 10 percent covered by local matching funds.

Officials say the design aims to reduce crashes and improve traffic flow at one of the area’s busiest intersections.
