TOLEDO, Ohio — One of downtown Toledo’s most recognizable buildings has changed hands.
Commercial real estate firm Reichle Klein Group announced it represented both the buyer and seller in the sale of One SeaGate, the 32-story office tower overlooking the Maumee River. The firm did not disclose the purchase price or identify the new owner.
The building contains more than 653,000 square feet of office space and remains one of the tallest structures in Toledo.
Construction on One SeaGate began in 1979, and the tower officially opened in 1982 as the headquarters for Owens-Illinois. The landmark later became known as the Fifth Third Center at One SeaGate after Fifth Third Bank established its Northwest Ohio headquarters in the building in 2007. The tower remains the second-tallest building in Toledo, standing 411 feet tall.
Reichle Klein Group said the sale marks the second time the company has brokered the transaction for the iconic downtown property. Additional details about the building’s future are expected once the new ownership group is announced.
