Horizon Youth Theatre Brings “She Kills Monsters” to Grand Rapids Stage

Grand Rapids, Ohio – This weekend, the Horizon Youth Theatre is set to transport audiences to a world of fantasy, adventure, and heartfelt storytelling with their production of She Kills Monsters: Young Adventurer’s Edition at Grand Rapids Town Hall. Directed by the local youth theater team, this adaptation of Qui Nguyen’s popular play is a lively mix of drama and comedy, highlighting the power of imagination and the bonds that keep us connected.

She Kills Monsters follows high schooler Agnes Evans as she copes with the tragic loss of her younger sister, Tilly. The journey begins when Agnes discovers Tilly’s Dungeons & Dragons notebook, which plunges her into a world where her late sister is a warrior in a thrilling, monster-filled fantasy realm. The show offers a unique blend of action, humor, and poignancy as it explores themes of grief, resilience, and sisterhood.

Performances will take place at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 8, and Saturday, November 9, with a matinee show on Sunday, November 10, at 2 p.m on the stage at historic Grand Rapids Town Hall. Tickets are available for $10 for adults and $8 for students, and can be purchased through the Horizon Youth Theatre website at HYT.org or locally at the Village Orchard in Grand Rapids.
