Big Lots Closure Leads to Ollie’s Expansion in Northwest Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is taking over multiple Big Lots locations, including stores in Bowling Green, Findlay, and Toledo, as part of a larger acquisition of 40 stores nationwide. The move comes as Big Lots navigates bankruptcy and closes hundreds of locations.

The former Big Lots stores in Bowling Green (818 S. Main St.), Findlay (1925 Tiffin Ave.), and Toledo (3946 W. Alexis Road) will soon reopen under the Ollie’s brand, known for its discount merchandise and closeout deals.

Big Lots filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September 2024, citing financial struggles. While around 200 stores will remain open, more than 600 are closing. Ollie’s continues to grow, now with 42 locations in Ohio and more on the way.

Shoppers in Northwest Ohio can expect discounted goods at the new Ollie’s locations, with opening dates to be announced.
