Grand Rapids, Ohio — Music lovers in Grand Rapids are in for a special treat as the Grand Rapids Town Hall Committee and the Historical Society of Grand Rapids proudly present Warren & Flick in concert on Saturday, April 26, at 7:00 p.m. The performance will take place in the heart of the village at the historic Grand Rapids Town Hall.
Warren & Flick, a dynamic acoustic duo, bring a rich and textured soundscape to their live performances. Jacob Warren, on double bass, and Grant Flick, who plays violin, tenor guitar, and nyckelharpa, blend their diverse musical backgrounds to create an engaging and genre-defying experience. The two University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance graduates first met at an Acoustic Music Seminar in 2015 and have since released two albums—Kestrel and Waxwing.
Their collaboration is rooted in both friendship and musical exploration. Warren’s classical training and Flick’s expertise in bluegrass and jazz come together in a performance style that is both refined and adventurous. The duo were recently named finalists in the 2024 Concert Artists Guild Competition, with Warren also earning top honors in the 2023 International Society of Bassists Soloist Competition.
Beyond the stage, Warren & Flick are dedicated educators who regularly lead workshops and clinics aimed at inspiring the next generation of musicians. More information about the duo, including music samples and tour dates, can be found at www.warrenandflick.com.
The concert is part of a growing slate of events hosted at the Town Hall as part of the committee’s mission to revitalize the space with community-focused programming. Over the past year, the venue has hosted a comedians’ showcase, a Christmas sing-along, a silent movie night, performances from Horizon Youth Theatre, and a production of The Sound of Music.
Tickets for the April 26 concert are $10 and can be purchased in advance at the Village Orchard in downtown Grand Rapids or at the door on the evening of the show.
