Amazon-Funded Roundabout Project Set to Begin on US 20 in Wood County

WOOD COUNTY, OH — A major traffic upgrade is coming to US Route 20 in Wood County, thanks to a fully funded infrastructure project backed by Amazon.

The Wood County Port Authority announced that Miller Bros. Construction has been awarded the contract to build a new roundabout between the Crossroads Centre shopping plaza and Lime City Road. The $1.7 million project is being paid for entirely by Amazon to help accommodate the expected increase in traffic tied to its new local facility.

Construction is scheduled to begin later this month and will require a full closure of US 20 in the project zone for approximately 45 days. However, access for local residents and businesses will be maintained during the closure.

Officials say the project is on a fast-track schedule, with completion expected by August. The new roundabout is designed to improve traffic flow and long-term access to the area’s growing commercial corridor.
