Teen Critically Injured in Shooting at Glass City Academy in Downtown Toledo

Toledo, Ohio — A 17-year-old student is in critical condition after a shooting Monday afternoon inside Glass City Academy in downtown Toledo.

According to the Toledo Police Department, officers responded around 3 p.m. to reports of gunfire at the school near Monroe and 10th streets. The teen was shot multiple times just inside the building’s front entrance as students were being dismissed for the day.

Investigators believe the suspected shooter is also a student at the academy. No arrests have been made, and police have not identified a suspect as the investigation continues.

School officials said the building has been secured and classes are expected to resume Tuesday. Glass City Academy serves students ages 14 to 22 working toward earning their high school diplomas.
