TOLEDO, Ohio — The 21st Annual Veterans Appreciation Breakfast and Resource Fair will take place on Tuesday, November 11, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Savage Arena on the University of Toledo campus. Parking for the event is free.
Organized through a partnership between the American Red Cross, University of Toledo, and the Lucas County Veterans Service Commission, the event gives the community a chance to honor local veterans and active service members for their dedication and sacrifice.
Along with a free breakfast, attendees will have access to more than 35 community resources focused on veterans and military families.
The morning will also feature entertainment from younger members of the community, including Rossford High School’s S.O.S. (Serving Our Soldiers) Club, who will greet and assist veterans, and fourth graders from Waterville Primary School, who will perform musical selections. Local DJ Jeff Mentel will provide background music during the breakfast.
Dan Cummins, well-known WTOL News personality, will serve as Master of Ceremonies, and Captain Joshua Gillium, U.S. Army Recruiting Company Commander, will be the event’s guest speaker. Captain Gillium has served in both non-commissioned and commissioned officer roles during his military career.
The breakfast and resource fair are free and open to all veterans, active-duty personnel, reservists, and their family members.
