Toledo-Area Fireworks Guide 2026: Where to Celebrate the Fourth of July

Looking for the best place to celebrate Independence Day around Toledo? From downtown riverfront fireworks to hometown festivals across the suburbs, there’s no shortage of places to enjoy food, music and fireworks during America’s 250th birthday celebration.

Here’s a look at some of the biggest fireworks events happening in and around the Toledo area.


Thursday, July 2

Oregon – Freedom Fest

Location: Oak Shade Grove
Festival: 5-11 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

Oregon’s Freedom Fest returns with live entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses, kids activities and fireworks celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.


Swanton

Location: Memorial Park
Festival: 4-10 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

Swanton’s annual Independence Day celebration features food vendors, family activities and fireworks at dusk.


Whitehouse Founders Day Fireworks

Location: Blue Creek Metropark & Whitehouse Village Hall
Activities Begin: 5 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

Whitehouse celebrates both America’s 250th birthday and the village’s 162nd anniversary with one of the area’s largest community celebrations. Families can enjoy food trucks, inflatables, balloon artists, face painting, live music from The 25’s, local history displays and fireworks after sunset.


Woodville Fourth of July Celebration

Location: Trail Marker Park
Festival Begins: 4 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

Woodville kicks off its 84th annual Fourth of July Celebration with midway rides, live entertainment, a beer tent and fireworks Thursday evening. The community celebration continues through July 4 with races, a parade, car show, Touch-a-Truck and additional live entertainment.


Friday, July 3

Bowling Green – BG BOOM Festival

Location: Wood County Fairgrounds
Festival: 4-9 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

The free festival includes food trucks, inflatables, games, live entertainment and one of Wood County’s largest fireworks displays.


Perrysburg & Maumee

Fireworks: 10 p.m.

The annual joint fireworks display returns along the Maumee River near the Fort Meigs Memorial Bridge. Popular viewing locations include Fort Meigs Historic Site, Riverside Park, Orleans Park and the Towpath Trail.

Because of the large crowds, several road closures begin throughout the day, with the bridge closing to vehicle traffic at 7 p.m. Spectators are encouraged to arrive early and expect delays after the show.


Sylvania – Star-Spangled Fireworks

Location: Centennial Terrace
Gates Open: 6 p.m.
Live Music: 56 Daze
Fireworks: 10 p.m.

The annual celebration features live music, concessions and fireworks. Additional public viewing is available from nearby Pacesetter Park.


Saturday, July 4

Toledo – Fireworks in the 419

Location: Downtown Toledo Riverfront
Festival Begins: 6 p.m.
Fireworks: Dark

Toledo’s signature Independence Day celebration is expected to draw more than 80,000 people downtown this year.

Promenade Park becomes the center of the celebration beginning at 6 p.m. with food trucks, beverage vendors and live music from Nikki D & the Sisters of Thunder followed by Distant Cousinz before the fireworks begin after dark.

Excellent viewing is available from both sides of the Maumee River, including Promenade Park, Glass City Metropark (Downriver and Upriver) and Middlegrounds Metropark.

Visitors should plan ahead, as extensive security measures will be in place. A special event safety zone takes effect at 6 p.m., including bag inspections, restrictions on coolers, backpacks and personal fireworks, and minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Parking will be limited, particularly on the east side of the river. Officials recommend parking downtown or taking the $3 TARTA shuttle from Franklin Park Mall to avoid traffic. Numerous road closures will begin throughout the evening around Summit Street, the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge and Glass City Metropark.

Boaters can also enjoy the show from the Maumee River, with reserved docking available along the downtown riverwalk.


Waterville

Location: Prairie Trail Park / Waterville Primary School
Celebration Begins: 5:30 p.m.
Fireworks: Dusk

Waterville’s largest fireworks show ever includes food trucks, free inflatables, music, games and family activities before fireworks cap off the evening.


Planning Ahead

Large crowds are expected throughout the holiday weekend. Arriving early, using designated parking areas and checking organizers’ social media pages for any weather updates will help make your celebration a little easier.
