TOLEDO, Ohio — A second suspect has been taken into custody in connection with the June 6 shooting at Toledo’s Old West End Festival that left 12 people injured.
According to Toledo police, Ka Nye Taylor was arrested Wednesday in Columbus with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, Ohio State Police SWAT and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz told WTOL 11 that Taylor had been located while allegedly hiding in the Columbus area. Taylor was previously charged with 11 counts of felonious assault and is expected to be extradited to Toledo to face prosecution.
The shooting occurred near Delaware and Glenwood avenues during the annual Old West End Festival. Investigators have said at least two individuals appeared to exchange gunfire, resulting in multiple bystanders being struck.
Authorities previously arrested Eljay Crisp-Carr on June 12. He also faces 11 counts of felonious assault in connection with the incident.
A juvenile suspect has also been arrested on a charge of tampering with evidence. Police allege the juvenile fled the scene with a firearm believed to be connected to the shooting.
Toledo police said all 12 victims survived the incident and were reported in stable condition.
The investigation remains ongoing.
