Volunteer and Job Fair for Veterans Set in Toledo April 17

Job Fair

Toledo, Ohio — The Lucas County Veterans Service Commission will host its first-ever Volunteer and Job Fair on Friday, April 17, 2026, aimed at connecting local veterans with community service opportunities and employment resources.

The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the commission’s offices, located at 2555 Arlington Avenue in Toledo. Organizers say parking will be free for all attendees.

According to estimates from the United States Census Bureau, more than 23,000 military veterans live in Lucas County. The fair is designed to support that population by helping veterans continue their tradition of service while also assisting with their transition into civilian employment.

Event organizers say one goal is to connect veterans with volunteer opportunities throughout the community, allowing them to continue giving back in meaningful ways. Another key focus is employment, helping job-seeking veterans meet with local employers and explore career options.

Participating organizations and employers are expected to include Amada Senior Care, Department of Job and Family Services, Estes Express Lines, FedEx, First Health Palliative and Hospice, Great Lakes Community Action Partnership, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Lucas County Children Services, Lucas Metropolitan Housing, Ohio Means Jobs, Remember Veterans Grave Markers Inc., Residential Hospice, Supplemental Staffing, and Toledo Police Recruiting.

The event is open to all local veterans, active-duty service members, and reserve personnel. Family members are also encouraged to attend.
