A new radio show covering local happenings in Northwest Ohio went on the air Monday morning. The 419 Radio Show, produced by NWO Community Media, aims to feature local events and happenings from all around Northwestern Ohio.
The radio program, hosted by Towpath Radio’s Josh David, will run on three streaming stations operated by NWO Community Media. Listeners can expect to hear about events, news, and some commentary from areas around Toledo, Bowling Green, and Napoleon with heavy focus on smaller towns such as Grand Rapids, Whitehouse, Waterville, McClure, Holland, Liberty Center, Swanton, etc.
“We’re based in Grand Rapids, so much of the content will start there,” said Josh David. “This program will be the flagship for all of the NWO Community Media stations, which is important as we get closer to our FM launch for Towpath Radio. We hope to feature guests from the community to help promote various community and non-profit events.”
The program is unique in that it won’t break away from the music formats on Towpath Radio, River Rat Country, or Sweet 419.
“What makes us different from other shows is what happens between the songs,” said David. “We will still be playing the same amount of music on each station with hyper local content between the songs. Think of it as a local podcast broken up to include music.”
The 419 Radio Show can be heard Monday through Wednesday from 10am until 2pm on Towpath Radio, Monday through Friday from 10am until 2pm on River Rat Country, and Monday through Friday between 8am and noon on Sweet 419. The program will also be available daily in podcast form on the Stream 419 app, iHeart Radio, Spotify, Amazon Music, and many other podcatchers.
